What gsm and oz mean for heavyweight blanks
Fabric weight is given as grams per square meter (gsm, or g/m2) or as ounces per square yard (oz/yd2). The conversion: 1 oz/yd2 = 33.9 g/m2. So a 6.1 oz tee is 206.8 g/m2, a 10 oz hoodie is about 339 gsm, and a 430 gsm tee is about 12.7 oz.

There is no fixed standard. In this guide we count tees at 250 gsm or more and hoodies at 350 gsm or more as heavyweight. A common entry tee such as the Bella+Canvas 3001 is 142 g/m2.
How do I convert oz to gsm?+
1 oz per square yard equals 33.9 grams per square meter. Multiply oz/yd2 by 33.9 to get gsm, or divide gsm by 33.9 to get oz/yd2. A 10 oz hoodie is about 339 gsm.
