Why sellers look past Printify

We pulled 50 Printify Trustpilot reviews dated September 12 to October 4, 2026. The 41 invited reviews average 4.76. The 9 unprompted reviews average 1.0, and most describe the same three things: delays, orders split across providers, and support. On G2, where we pulled 50 more, the most common complaint is that quality depends on which provider prints the order.

“Printify will distribute your items to multiple independent vendors so each item ships from a separate place with a separate timeline”Daniel Shaw, Trustpilot, September 2026
“The last four orders I’ve processed through them have had such significant delays that I’ve had to refund my customers.”Sara, Trustpilot, September 2026
“Quality can vary a bit between print providers, even for the same product.”Mia C., G2, March 2026

Price is the other reason. Printify's lowest prices need Premium, at $39 a month or $24.99 a month billed yearly.

The 3 best Printify alternatives

  1. Tapstitch

    Heavier streetwear blanks, one maker

Tapstitch makes and ships its own catalog, so there is no provider lottery. Its blanks are heavier for the money: a 260 gsm tee (RT0063) is $5.99 plus $2.99 per printed side, or $8.98 with a front print, against Printify's 206.8 g/m2 Comfort Colors 1717 from $12.65. A 430 gsm hoodie (RW0016) is $22.99 blank. No subscription. It offers neck labels, hang tags, and insert cards. On Trustpilot since September 2026, invited reviews average 4.93 (n=42) against Printify's 4.76 (n=41), and unprompted 2.44 (n=9) against 1.0 (n=9). The caveats: fits run small, many styles stop at 2XL or 3XL, and most styles ship from China (59 ship from Los Angeles).

  2. Printful

One company, embroidery and all-over print

Printful sells one fixed catalog with set prices instead of a choice of providers, and offers DTG, DTF, embroidery, and all-over print, with inside labels at $0.99. A Bella + Canvas 3001 with a front print is $11.92, close to Printify's from $11.29, and US shipping is $4.95 for the first tee. The Growth plan is $24.99 a month, free once sales reach $12K a year. Its reviewers mention higher base costs, shipping delays, and crooked prints. Trustpilot 4.2 (7,908 reviews), Shopify 4.8 (3,903).

  3. Gelato

    Wall art and paper products

Gelato's reviews center on wall art and paper products more than apparel. Reviewers report orders stuck in production, slow support, and damaged packaging, and some mention Etsy blocking. On Trustpilot since September 2026, invited reviews average 4.97 (n=33) and unprompted 1.47 (n=17). Trustpilot 4.2 (3,387 reviews), Shopify 4.8 (1,018). We could not verify its prices, so we list none.

When to stay with Printify

Stay if you need sizes up to 5XL, a very wide product range, or the cheapest starting US shipping (from $3.99 for a tee). Printify has 7,665 Trustpilot reviews at 4.5 and 4,338 Shopify App Store reviews at 4.7, and our 50 recent G2 reviews average 4.72. If you have found a provider whose quality you trust, the reasons to move are weaker.

If your line is heavyweight streetwear and you want one company behind every garment, Tapstitch is the alternative we would test first. Read its full review record and the sizing guide before you order.

How we sourced this: on 2026-10-05 we pulled the 50 newest Printify reviews from Trustpilot (September 12 to October 4, 2026) and 50 from G2, plus 50 Trustpilot reviews each for Printful (September 11 to October 3) and Gelato (September 2 to October 4), and Tapstitch reviews from September 1, 2026 on. Trustpilot labels each review as invited or unprompted, and we averaged each group separately. Printify prices are ‘from’ prices on its product pages, for the cheapest provider and size, and include a print. Quotes are verbatim. See our methodology.
